oh dear.
last year me and shannon teao was shortlisted to be sent to the sony cannes photography fest.
we didn't make it. i'm not surprised though. it was up against 120 other students across the world.
here's what i put in.
We verge on breaking the harmony between all life on Earth, pushing boundaries in the dominance of fellow mammals, reptiles, birds and fish. Although this is not New Zealand's number one concern, we certainly place ourselves within the issue by taking a vocal and liberal stance in the support for keeping the cycle and balance in the world. Looking at life through the unfamiliar eyes of our co inhabitants, we strain the position in which we as mammals live our lives and affect those around us. We leave the need for individual survival; in consequence suppress the evolution of not only ourselves but the life on Earth we share. It's no longer what we're doing to animals, but what we're doing to ourselves.
